This past week on campus was a very busy one. Unfortunately for me, I had a midterm everyday. It can be very difficult to balance a busy week filled with exams and lots of studying. It is extremely important during times like this that you make some time for yourself so that your mind doesn’t go crazy! For me, personally, I think the best way to keep yourself sane during a week like this is to make sure that you add exercise into your busy schedule. Even if you just do a quick ten or twenty minute workout, it can give you enough energy to get you through the rest of your busy day. This past week, I was able to keep myself sane by going to yoga as much as I could so that I could take my mind off of all of the chaos that was going on and just focus on myself. I just started going to a yoga place in Bala Cynwyd, called Dana Hot Yoga. It is easy to walk to from campus, only being a little over a mile, and is the perfect way to get a really good workout in. The class is an hour and a half so unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make it every day. Some other workouts that I did on the days that I only had about twenty minutes to spare were either going for a quick run outside for some fresh air or going to the gym and using the elliptical or the treadmill for a good way to get my heart rate up. It is also very important during times like this to make sure that you are eating healthy and drinking lots of water. It is a good idea to plan out meals and times that you will eat them and to make sure you are eating lots of protein. Also, keep good and energizing snacks on hand in case you don’t have time to go back to your room.
Some other ways to stay on point during busy weeks is to plan ahead and make sure that you give yourself enough down time and rest so that your week will go by a lot smoother and you are able to enjoy it without getting too stressed over the work load. A good way to plan out your week is by using a planner that you can write down every event, test, assignment, and any other deadlines so that you won’t make the mistake of forgetting about them because that can be easy to do during a packed school week. It is also important during weeks or times like this to make time for friends and family and make sure that you keep in contact and don’t shut them out of your life. Schedule study times and make sure that you stay focused and don’t get distracted. Most importantly, make sure that you get your beauty sleep because it is the most crucial factor in doing well in anything. Sleep will help you rest your brain and de-stress your body!
